Solo in Training

A  fellow runner needs some help.

My friend Sarah “Solo”vey is preparing for the Nike Women’s Marathon in San Francisco through a program called Team in Training. Along the way she is raising money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Completely awesome. She’s doing really well with both training and fund raising. She has a goal of $4,0000 and is nearly there. See the message below. If you are interested in learning more about her efforts or want to make a Contribution.

Hello there!
Well, I have about 9 weeks left until the Nike Women’s Marathon in San Francisco, and training has been tough. We ran 12 miles on Sunday, of which I completed 8 with the team before cramping and being forced to retire early. I’ve heard it happens, so I’m keeping a positive outlook. I’m getting up at 5:30 A.M. tomorrow morning to run the Cooper River Bridge with a few of my lovely teammates and wonderful mentors, and as crazy as it sounds to get up that early in the blistering humidity, I’m quite looking forward to it!
I’ve just received more good news for my Team in Training fund raising efforts – I’ve gotten word that a very generous individual is willing to match any donations made from today (August 19, 2009) on, up to the amount of $250. That means that if I receive another $250 in donations, I will be given a matching check for $250 by said generous individual! My efforts have raised roughly $3,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society thus far (my web page does not include some recent donations, which take about two to three weeks to go through once I send them in), and that means I only have $1,100 more to go before reaching my $4,100 GOAL! With the matching grant, I would only have to raise another $600 to achieve my goal – PLEASE HELP ME GET THERE!
To donate, you can do either of two things:
Go to http://pages.teamintraining.org/sc/nikesf09/ssolovey and click the “Donate Now” button,
Or
Make out a check to “The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society” for the amount of your choosing, and write on the memo line “S. Solovey Nike Women’s” then send the check to
Sarah Solovey132 Spring Street, Apt. CCharleston, SC 29403
Thanks, and GO TEAM!
Love,
Sarah Solovey

P.S. I would appreciate it if you would forward this to as many people as you can to encourage them to donate as well. Thanks again.
