Captain Magwood

This past Saturday I went shrimping with the legendary Captain Magwood, and some of the Army Wives crew. Awesome experience, minus the whole getting up at 3 in the morning thing. We set sail from Shem Creek in Mt. Pleasant and went our past the Isle of Palms. A pirates life is definitely not for me, but I’m still glad I went. Here are some photos from the excursion.

They have these huge nets that they drag behind the ship, and then they pull them on board and litterally open them above the deck, spilling out all manner of sea life. Seriously….there’s a lot of stuff in the ocean.

Sorting

Sorting things out

We had to sort through heaps of sea life, mostly jelly fish, and chuck the shrimp into baskets.

Paul decided to eat one raw. He offered me 50 bucks to do it, but I'm only one week out of work and not that desperate for cash just yet.

We had tons of birds follow the ship looking for scraps. It was like something out of a Hitchcock film.

IMG_1287Dolphins were also present. We called this one baby. She kept doing tricks and smiling for us. Those Dolphins are going to be made fun of by all the other dolphins for being fat, and we’re to blame.
